I remember thinking to myself when I had new ideas I wanted to bring to life, “who am I to help others? Maybe I am not ready. Maybe I don’t have much to offer. Maybe I have to learn more and gain more experience.”
Above all, I had this belief that something was wrong with me because of the thoughts I was having which at one point I didn’t know were because of my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/anxiety.
Since I thought something was wrong with me, I used to think that I shouldn’t share my journey or put myself out there like I do today.
All of this changed for me when I soon started to learn that you don’t need to “heal, fix, or figure” your sh*t out to pursue your dreams, goals, and ideas.
There is no such thing as healing yourself to the point that you will never experience triggers. We are human beings which means we are bound to experience all sorts of thoughts and feelings which includes discomfort, anxiety, doubt, confusion, and/or uncertainty, etc.
There is no such thing as perfection. The most successful people also have their own struggles.
Sure, we can work to improve our lives and who we are but we cannot escape the ups and downs of this human experience.
So with that being said, as you work on yourself, remember this…
It’s okay to also follow your dreams, goals, and ideas all at the same time.
You are worthy and deserving of making it all happen!
You don’t need to be “healed or fixed” to help others.
You don’t need to have your sh*t figured out to start that idea or goal in your heart because you can figure it out along the way.
You can offer your help, knowledge, and experience to others as you continue to do the inner work.
You can be healing, uncertain, or doubtful and still pursue your wildest dreams.
As I continue to write, blog, dance, and share my journey online I am still working on so much within myself. But, it’s because I’ve learned that I don’t need to be “healed or fixed” to do what I want to do. I am worthy of my wildest dreams regardless of the challenges I experience and I deserve to experience and live out my desires. And, so do you.
I leave you with a quote I created when I was reflecting on this a few years ago & maybe it resonates for you:
I am worthy of making my dreams come true regardless of the challenges I experience with my mental health.
